Solstice smells like the longest night of the year—and somehow makes you want it to last a little longer.
Cool winter air and quiet woods open crisp and atmospheric before settling into soft amber warmth. It’s clean without feeling bright, woodsy without becoming evergreen-heavy, and warm without turning sweet. The whole thing has this beautiful push and pull between the cold outside and the glow inside.
Think bare branches against a dark December sky, frost beginning to gather on the windows, every light in the house turned low, and one candle burning while the rest of the world seems unusually still.
There’s something ancient about the winter solstice—the darkness reaches its absolute peak, and then, almost imperceptibly, the light begins returning.
Solstice lives right there.
Made for the longest nights, quiet houses, ridiculous amounts of blankets, and remembering that darkness isn't necessarily an ending.
Why we made it:
Because sometimes the appropriate response to the sun setting at 4:12 is simply to light more things.
